The Science Bit
The type of protein, its source & digestibility are very important for pet health, meat is the best source of protein for dogs for ideal performance. Once a protein is ingested it is broken down into the individual amino acids thta are used as building blocks for healthy growth and repair of muscles and coat contdition.
oils anD fats
Oils and fats are needed in the diet to provide essential fatty acids & energy. This is the Omega 3 & 6 that we add. They are involved in many aspects of health including skin and coat condition, reproduction, brain and eye health. Omega 3 supplement supports cognitive function, visual development & helps reduce the inflammation response
We use only the finest ingredients in our food made in Europe's most advanced and environmentally sustainable pet manufacturing facility. You will not find any added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives in our food.
absolutely nothing artificial is added
Carbohydrates are a good source of energy. They consist of easily digestible starches and more complex carbohydrates such as cellulose fibre. Potato, rice and peas are all good sources, encouraging lower feed requirements and smaller firmer poo.
Vitamins and minerals
These are essential for the long term health of your pet. Vitamins are necessary for many of the body's processes and they act as antioxidants which helps prevent ageing. Minerals are required for healthy bones, skin and overall cell function.
Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) and Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS) encourage the production of healthy bacteria in the digestive system. They also influence immune Function, Ileal and Total Tract Nutrient Digestibility, Microbial Populations and Concentrations of Protein Catabolites in the Large Bowel of Dogs promoting gastrointestinal health and performance
Glucosamine is added to support joint health and mobility as it works by synthesising hyaluronic acid & glycoaminoglycans within the joint. Chondroitin Sulphate Chondroitin is added to support joint health and mobility a “building block” of the joint. It also works to stop degradative enzymes which promote cartilage breakdown. They are popular within puppy and senior diets to support growing bones and help maintain strong bones and good mobility further into senior years.
Methylsulphonylmethane (MSM) MSM, an organosulphur compound is often added to pet food in conjunction with Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulphate for a joint health and mobility aid. MSM can have a protective effect from oxidative and inflammatory damage caused by exercise. Therefore it can help to reduce damage to joints through oxidation effects caused by constant exercise of active puppies. In human studies MSM reduced pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis patients.
Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) FOS naturally occurring in plants and are not hydrolysed by small intestinal glycosidases & therefore reach the cecum structurally unchanged where they are metabolised by intestinal microflora & form short chain carboxlic acids. FOS can benefit digestive health by serving as a substrate for microflora of the large intestine. It encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria at the expense of putrefactive bacteria. FOS can also promote improvements in immune function.
Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS) MOS are derived from yeast cell walls and are hydrolysed by lactobacilli and other bifidobacteria. Using MOS in pet food is beneficial for digestive health by promoting growth of beneficial gut bacteria, increasing immune function, intercepting pathogenic bacteria colonisation in the intestine.
